Something About That Name

Performance Packages

The Performance and Discussion option includes a showing of Something About That Name (45 minutes) plus a discussion led by the cast with the audience (30 minutes +).  We ask that 30 minutes be the minimum but recommend planning for an hour of discussion.  We have found that audiences have a lot to share post-show, and they are eager to know about our process in creating the piece.

Performance Only

The choice for Performance Only is perfect for groups with time constraints.  Something About That Name is 45 minutes in length.  Due to the content of the piece, we recommend that your group or church discusses the show the next time you meet.

One Day or Weekend Retreat

Something About That Name is a great catalyst for conversation and workshops in telling one’s own story of faith.  Retreat participants would view the performance, break meals together, enjoy solitude and reflection time, share their stories, and experience the act of creating their own music and/or theatre based on their communal or individual stories.  We can build a retreat based on the needs and desires of the group!

Audience Feedback:

“Something About That Name” is an often-poignant and always humor-filled look at how Christian discipleship isn’t just about conformity to the expectations of the church.  Prepare to laugh, be annoyed, and come away deeply appreciating those who invested in your Christian journey.” — Jeff Wright, pastor of Madison Street Church, Riverside, California

As a missionary for 14 years I have seen the Lord work in many wonderful ways.  This is one of them!  I was on the edge of my seat throughout this riveting performance which so beautifully shared the Gospel.  I am praying that many people will see and hear the good news through this show. — Elias Al, Missionary

“Something About That Name” not only provokes thought but it provokes action:  To make our faith real amongst our brothers and sisters and show love even to those who are different and not of the faith, for we are called to love every last person.” — Kelsy Knight, student of California Baptist University

“Something About That Name” is funny, entertaining, and thought provoking.  It harnesses the prophetic power of sarcasm and uses it to bring glory to Christ.” — Frank Mihelich, Assistant Professor of Theatre, California Baptist University
